New work club launching at St Aubyn Library

A new 'work club' offering support and advice for jobseekers is being launched at Devonport's St Aubyn Library.

Controlled explosion follows emergency road closure near HMS Drake

Police have reopened Saltash Road after the Royal Naval EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) carried out a controlled explosion of an unknown package, thought to be a suitcase, discovered close to HMS Drake.

Plymouth appoints its first Lord Mayor's police cadet

Aptly-named Lauren Peel has been named as the first Lord Mayor's police cadet. Laura, who is 14-years-old, has been appointed to the post, which is similar to the High Sheriff's cadet role.

Police warn licensees after Plymouth lap dancing club conviction

Devon and Cornwall Police are warning licensees to comply with their premises licences following the conviction of Tony Bowman, former boss at Divas Lap Dancing Club.

Adam Smart, the motorcylist injured in A38 collision has died

Police have confirmed that Adam Smart, the young motorcyclist seriously injured after a collision with a tanker on the A38, died in hospital last night.

The 20-year-old local man's motorcycle collided with the heavy good vehicle on Monday 10 June at around 7.45am at the Carkeel roundabout in Saltash.
