Man rescued from Tamar Bridge

Emergency services have rescued a man who climbed the Tamar Bridge last night.

The bridge was closed fo over an hour while rescue services first negotiated with the man and then managed a successful rescue.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue report that they were called at approximately 21:45 last night by the Police to assist them.

Busy Plymouth road closed after two vehicle collision

Peverell Park Road in Plymouth has been closed this morning (Monday 17 June) after a collision involving two vehicles around the busy junction with Hyde Park Road and Weston Park.

Swimmer dies after rescue from South Devon sea

A man has died at Derriford Hospital after getting into difficulty swimming in the water off Beesands Beach, near Kingsbridge in South Devon.

A police spokesperson said that they attended the scene at approximately 12.30pm on Saturday 15 June 2013, after receiving a report that a male swimmer had been brought ashore unconscious.
