The Brownston Gallery works closely with South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts , a charity dedicated to advancing the creation and appreciation of arts in the region, and is delighted to be hosting their Spring Exhibition featuring work by seven Academicians - Kate Aggett , Ken Cosgrove , Phil Creek , Carolyn King , Shirley Kirkcaldy , Karen Popham and James Tatum - alongside paintings by Jennifer Schamotta , winner of The Brownston Prize 2025.

What the Ground Remembers brings together Devon-based artists Steve Thorpe, Kate Lyons Miller and Paul Devon Young in an exhibition centered on process, material, and the earth beneath our feet.

Paper Impressions Workshop with Artist Emma Lamb

Artist Emma Lamb will be sharing her expertise and knowledge to help you create a unique and beautiful relief piece on handmade paper. During this workshop at The Brownston Gallery participants will explore making handmade paper using recycled and natural materials, experimenting with imbedding natural forms and casting impressions into the paper. Photo Art Exhibition

The Hay Gallery at Sea View Art Barn, Otterton provides the perfect backdrop for this three artists exhibition (weekend 30-31 May) featuring works inspired by the natural landscape, horses and dogs. A charming combination of photographic works, paintings and sculptures will be on show by local artists; Photographer – James Wakefield, Photographer – Kit Williams and Sculptor – Frances Margaret.
