Met Office warns of possible isolated thunderstorms and torrential downpours

The Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the South West today with localised thunderstorms and torrential downpours possible (Friday 7 June).

A 'yellow warning' of rain has been issued and the Met Office say: "The public should be aware of the risk of some disruption to transport through standing water.

Thousands of Plymouth Community Homes (PCH) tenants could soon enjoy lower energy bills thanks to a new scheme to upgrade their homes.

Plymstock Library is hosting a dementia awareness event on Friday 28 June.

Yachtsman dies after falling overboard in the River Yealm

A man has died after falling overboard from a yacht in the entrance to the River Yealm.

Brixham Coastguard say that they received numerous reports of a red flare in the entrance to the River Yealm.
