Improvements to residents’ parking in Mutley and North Hill

Proposals to improve residents’ parking in a number of Mutley and North Hill roads will shortly be advertised by Plymouth City Council.

Pay and display bays in Alton Place, Derry Avenue, St Lawrence Road, Sutherland Road, Welbeck Avenue and Winstone Avenue will be made ‘mixed use’ under the plans, meaning they can be used by resident permit holders as well as paying visitors.

Firefighters attend to van found alight with petrol generator on board

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue reports that it was called out to a van on fire in Belgrave Road, Mutley, Plymouth on Friday morning (6 September) after receiving several emergency calls.

Man assaulted with glass bottle in Plymouth bar

Two men are in Police custody after a 33-year-old man was assaulted with a glass bottle at a Plymouth bar.

The incident took place at the Cuba bar in Mutley at around 1.40am on Friday 26 July.

The victim attempted to intervene when a fight broke out inside the bar and was then hit with the bottle, sustaining a cut to the back of the head.

Police are concerned for the welfare of a vulnerable 65-year-old man missing from his home in Plymouth.

Colin Randle was reported missing from his Mutley home on the morning of 30 March 2013.
