Appeal after man attacked in Mutley

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in the Mutley area of Plymouth.

A 25-year-old man, from South Humberside, was attacked by two men after he intervened following a disturbance between the two men and a woman at Sherwell Arcade, North Hill.

The victim was punched in the face by both men during the incident that happened on Sunday 24 January at around 4am. As a result, one of the victim’s front teeth was knocked out and a second tooth was chipped.

A 22-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until 28 January.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault.
