Fire crews attend Plymouth house fire

Two fire engines from Camels Head and Crownhill were mobilised to reports of a fire in a bedroom at Vinstone Way, Plymouth on Wednesday (2 October).

On arrival crews confirmed the fire, which involved curtains, was out. One hose reel jet was used to damp down and crews made the property safe.

84-year-old man dies in house fire

An 84-year-old man has died after a house fire in the village of Venton near Sparkwell.

The man's wife was rescued and taken to hospital. Her condition is a yet unknown.

Emergency services attended the fire late on Friday evening in the village near Plympton on Friday night.

Inquests open into deaths of teenagers in Honiton house fire

The inquests into the deaths of the two teenagers who died following a house fire in Honiton were opened yesterday in Exeter.
