Northam named Devon’s Best Churchyard of 2020

Local countryside and conservation charity Devon CPRE is delighted to announce that St Margaret’s Church at Northam is the Winner of this year’s Devon’s Best Churchyard Competition. At the weekend a sustainable oak plaque and a cheque for £200 was awarded to representatives of the community of volunteers who help maintain this beautifully biodiverse churchyard on the north Devon coast....

Pensioner charged with GBH over North Devon stabbing

A 72-year-old North Devon woman has been charged with violently attacking a 79-year-old man in Northam in North Devon.

Anne Tucker, from the Bideford area, has been charged with grievous bodily harm, after the man was found with a number of stab wounds to his neck, hands and leg.

Ms Tucker been released on police bail to return to Barnstaple Magistrates’ Court on 11 October...

72-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after North Devon stabbing

Police have arrested a 72-year-old woman at a property in North Devon on suspicion of attempted murder.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a property in Northam at around 2.40am on Monday (16 September 2013) after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.

On arrival officers found a man, aged 79, with a number of stab wounds to his neck, hands and leg.
