Dramatic cliff rescue in Plymouth

Emergency crews staged a dramatic rescue in the early hours of this morning.

At approximately 03.03hrs Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue recieved a call from Ambulance Control requesting assistance at coastal cliffs just off Admiralty road in the Stonehouse area of Plymouth.

A unit from Plymstock and the Specialist Rescue Tender from Camelshead have rescued a dog from a cliff above Bovisand Beach.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service report that on the crews' arrival at the scene at Bovisand Bay, Plymstock, the dog was found to be stuck in heavy gorse approximately 40 feet up a cliff.
