CPRE's Star Count 2021

People in Devon are being urged to take part in an annual Star Count to record our view of the night sky.

Star Count is an annual citizen science project from CPRE, the countryside charity, and the British Astronomical Association. From 6-14 February 2021 , the public are asked to look heavenwards during a clear night and count how many stars within Orion they can spot.

Family workshop: Memory Books With Let’s Make Art

Join Let's Make Art in making a personalised memory book to collect everyday treasure in. Each family will be guided in making a book complete with an image of its owner.

We'll be exploring the ways people archive their everyday lives and drawing inspiration from the exhibition in the gallery, Collected Shadows: The Archive of Modern Conflict.

The Big Draw - Superhero Storyboard (free)

Its the annual Big Draw this October and the Devon Guild in Bovey Tracey is holding free, creative fun days this half term, on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th October.

Kids and families can join us in the main gallery from 10.30am to 4pm to take part in the National Campaign for Drawing. Creative activities are inspired by artist Michael Honnor's current exhibition of giant landscape prints, and this year's Big Draw theme 'Every Drawing Tells A Story'. Ivan Chermayeff: Cut and Paste - Family Activity Day

Taking inspiration from Ivan Chermayeff: Cut and Paste, why not come and make your own collages from a variety of found materials.

We are also delighted to be exhibiting work by Stanley Donwood. His Dream Cargo collection of J.G. Ballard book covers will be on display as part of the Plymouth International Book Festival.
