Take heed, not speed - motorists ignoring warnings on county's roads

The County Council continues to work closely with the Environment Agency, District Councils and the Police to help manage the severe weather and tidal events today.

Only two severe flood warnings remain in place this afternoon in the South West.

The high tide around 8pm tonight is expected to be lower than last night but could still see a higher than usual flood risk.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man dressed as Spiderman was knocked unconscious in Looe on New Year’s Eve.

Police have found a body on the bank of the River Torridge in the search for missing North Devon man Caleb Jarvis.
