Bideford food festival to serve up a feast of local flavours
Food lovers and families are being invited to enjoy a free day out celebrating the best of local and regional produce when eat returns on Saturday, October 24.
The one-day festival will bring together more than 70 food and drink producers, with the majority based within 30 miles of Bideford.
Visitors can expect plenty of choice, including artisan producers, local bakers, deli favourites, farmers, brewers, orchardists, coffee roasters, sweet treats and street food.
The family-friendly event is free to attend and aims to be accessible and inclusive, with a wide range of gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and alcohol-free food and drink available.
As well as plenty to eat and drink, there will be entertainment and activities throughout the day, making the festival an opportunity for families and friends to get together while discovering something new.
Organisers say the festival has been designed to support local businesses, with eat operating as a not-for-profit social enterprise. Its aim is to connect communities with the productive landscape around them while supporting local food producers, businesses and families.
The festival is also designed to offer producers a low-cost opportunity to take part, helping ensure more of the money generated stays within local businesses and their communities.
With more than 70 producers expected, visitors wanting the widest choice of produce are advised to arrive early.
