Plymouth’s golfers are proving to be the most generous in the U.K. this Christmas, as they lead the way for ticket sales in the American Golf Christmas raffle, in support of forces charity On Course Foundation. More tickets have been sold in the town than in any of the retailers’ 100+ locations but can Plymouth maintain the momentum to come out on top?

With 764 of the £1 raffle tickets bought, customers at the Plymouth Elburton American Golf store are beating their nearest rivals, Braid Hills American Golf store in Edinburgh, by just 140 tickets. Plymouth took the title of ‘Most Generous Golfing Community’ as they rallied to support On Course Foundation in the 2017 raffle, but with the scores so tight in the run up to Christmas 2018, there are still plenty of donations to be made to ensure Plymouth secures the title of for a second year running.

With just 20,000 tickets available the race towards the target for On Course Foundation, the charity that uses golf in the rehabilitation of Wounded, Sick and Injured Service Personnel, is set to run all the way up to the closing date of 31st December. On Course Foundation has worked with American Golf to put together prizes that every golfer would want in their Christmas stocking such as a golf break at one of the five Marriot UK venues and golf equipment from leading manufacturers TaylorMade, Odyssey, PowaKaddy, Cobra and Titleist. With fantastic prizes, plus the chance to help in the rehabilitation of injured Service Personnel, Plymouth’s golfers are leading the way for an incredible New Year!

The charity raffle is just one way in which American Golf supports the On Course Foundation, and if they can hit the £20,000 Christmas raffle target it will cap an amazing year. American Golf’s Marketing Manager Nina Bebbington explains, “I’m delighted that Plymouth’s golfers have got behind the raffle. There are some fantastic prizes on offer, but most of all there’s an opportunity to help OCF support even more Service Personnel than ever in 2019. We’re are on target to raise over £50,000 for On Course Foundation in 2018, and with a final push for the Christmas raffle, we’ll make that target plus a bit more!”

Tickets are available to buy in American Golf stores right up to 31st December (or until they sell out) so make sure to spare an extra pound, and make a final push for your town, when you head in store to spend any Christmas money or when treating yourself for the new golfing year.
