Sacred Earth is a vibrant and envi­ron­men­tal­ly con­scious exhi­bi­tion fea­tur­ing the work of sev­en tal­ent­ed artists

Renowned for his  detailed botanical paintings, John Hurford presents an exciting new body of work.   Joe Webster has a  love of wild, untamed landscapes and paints en-plein air which allows him to observe and connect with nature as he works.

A firm favourite at the gallery, Marcelle Milo-Gray returns with her richly detailed and imaginative paintings. Her pieces often depict beloved animals and birds from folklore, as well as whimsical garden scenes, meadows and enchanted tea parties - moments both real and imagined.

New to the gallery, Emma Lamb introduces thought-provoking 3D works crafted on handmade paper. Her art encourages reflection on the effects of climate change, pollution and the damage we humans inflict on our fragile planet.

We’re also delighted to welcome two artists living in the UK but originally from the Far East. Keng Wai Lee from Malaysia shares a new series of brightly coloured, nature-inspired paintings. And Chinese, Tina Tiana who specialises in traditional brush painting, calligraphy and mineral pigment techniques, explores themes of nature, wildlife, and ancient legend.

There will also be some fabulous pottery by Caroline Mercer depicting a mixture of myth and folklore, native animals and sea creatures.

This special collection celebrates the beauty of the natural world while drawing attention to the urgent need to protect it. In support of this message, the gallery is partnering with two outstanding environmental organisations.

Till the Coast is Clear, a community interest company based in Kingsbridge, working tirelessly to tackle shoreline plastic pollution and leading nature regeneration projects in the area, and Surfers Against Sewage, a grassroots charity based in Cornwall campaigning to protect our oceans and coastline.

The exhibition runs until 24th October.
