Haydn Nelson Mass

“Arguably Haydn’s greatest single composition”, as declared by his chief biographer, H.C. Robbins Landon, Haydn composed this highly dramatic and exciting work in 1798. Titled Missa in Angustiis (Mass for troubled times), it was later nicknamed Nelson Mass following a performance attended by Admiral Nelson in 1800.

Calstock Singers presents The Best of British

The Calstock Singers’ Summer concert will this year feature all things British from the last 150 years plus, with a rousing Prom style ending – an opportunity to wave the flag, air the vocal chords and raise the roof. They will be spreading a little happiness, gathering lilacs, visiting the stately homes of England, and more.

The Calstock Singers are a community based choir performing in and around the parish raising funds for local charities. They rehearse on Monday evenings at The Old Chapel and perform two popular concerts there each year.
