Essential work will be carried out on the bridge on Monday 21 February and Tuesday 22 February and due to the narrow road width over the bridge it will need to be closed on both days for the safety of public and staff working on site.

Work is well underway to repair the historic Bickleigh Bridge on the A396 in Mid Devon.

Engineers were called to the scene early Monday, after an articulated lorry hit the wall on the downstream side of the listed bridge.
