Plymouth police hatch egg-cellent plan to nab bail bandits

With the Easter break just around the corner Plymouth’s bail bandits will get a surprise through the post during Easter week.

Almost thirty criminals with outstanding warrants against their names will get a hand-written greetings card from the city’s proactive police team reminding them that officers are thinking about them.

Those receiving the Easter bonus are wanted for a variety of crimes for which they jumped bail after being charged.

“It is important to remind these people that they are still very much in our thoughts, we are looking for them and they could have a miserable Easter locked-up if we pick them up in the days leading up to the long weekend,” said PC Greg Rendle, who has sent the cards.

“Anyone handing themselves in during the next week or so will not get a chocolate egg, but they will be processed and dealt with as quickly as possible. Those who don’t, and are picked up in the days building up to Good Friday, can expect to spend a few days in the cells.”

Anyone with any information is requested to ring Police on 08452 777444 quoting crime reference 0196.13 or contact CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
