South Devon UTC Students Celebrate Career-Ready BTEC Success
Students from South Devon UTC, part of Education South West, have been picking up their BTEC exam results this morning (13th August.)
South Devon UTC is also delighted to celebrate its first-ever T Level graduate, who has successfully achieved a Merit in their T Level Health: Adult Nursing qualification. This is a fantastic milestone for the UTC and a testament to the student Lucy’s hard work, commitment and determination throughout their studies.
Staff at the UTC are particularly proud that Lucy will now progress to study the Speech and Language Therapy Degree at the University of St Mark & St John (Marjon) in Plymouth, continuing their journey into a rewarding healthcare career.
As the UTC’s first T Level graduate, Lucy achievement marks an important moment in the development of T Levels at South Devon UTC and demonstrates the exciting opportunities these high-quality technical qualifications can provide for students progressing into higher education and future careers.
The UTC also have outstanding results from their Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering pathway.
Finn (DDD) is off to study Nautical Sciences degree at Southampton Uni, Nic (D*D*D) will be off to study a degree in Motorsports Engineering at Oxford Brookes Uni, Sam (MMP) has already started his L3 apprenticeship in civil engineering and Jacob (D*D*D*) has a degree level apprenticeship with a local company called Jacob’s Civil Engineering solutions in civil engineering.
South Devon UTC offers students a wide range of opportunities to develop the technical skills, confidence and experiences needed for future success. Through strong partnerships with employers, universities and other education providers, students regularly take part in hands-on engineering projects, workplace visits and careers events, including experiences with Kier Construction, university and apprenticeship fairs, and collaborative engineering sessions with local schools.
Alongside its specialist STEM curriculum, the UTC is committed to students' wider personal development, welcoming visiting speakers and theatre companies to explore topics such as respect, relationships and personal responsibility.

Through hands-on projects, industry placements and employer partnerships, they have developed not only excellent technical knowledge but also the confidence and professional skills that will serve them throughout their careers. We are immensely proud of everything they have achieved and excited to see where their ambitions take them next.”
