Marine Academy Plymouth Celebrate Best Results in Sixth Form’s History

There was plenty to celebrate at Marine Academy Plymouth today, Thursday 13th August, as students collected an exceptional set of A-level results – the best in the sixth form’s history.

The outstanding results cement Marine Academy Plymouth’s sixth form as one of the city’s best-performing sixth forms, with students achieving results significantly above national averages across key measures.

Nearly 40% of students achieved A or A* grades, while the average A-level grade was a B, with an impressive 100% pass rate. Students studying vocational qualifications achieved the highest possible average grade of Distinction+, demonstrating the strength of achievement across the full range of courses offered by the sixth form.

The results are a tremendous achievement for students and staff and reflect the ambition, determination and hard work shown throughout students’ time at Marine Academy Plymouth. The school is incredibly proud of what this year group has accomplished, both individually and collectively.

There were some particularly outstanding individual performances. Alfie Glanville achieved two As and a Distinction* and is off to University of Bath to study Pharmacy.

Jasmine Porter was awarded grades A*, A, B and is off to the University of Exeter to study English, Film and Television Studies.

Kacper Spionek achieved A, B, D* (plus an A for AS Psychology) and is off to University of Bath to study Business with Work Placements.

Roxana Tomer, who secured an excellent grade A in English, is off to the University of Plymouth to study English.

These exceptional outcomes mean students are now progressing to exciting next steps, including places at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, alongside apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

During their time in sixth form, students have taken part in a wide range of experiences designed to prepare them for life beyond school, including university and parliament visits, skills sessions and enrichment activities. They have received tailored support with university, apprenticeship and employment applications, interview preparation and workplace skills, alongside opportunities to broaden their knowledge and experiences beyond their chosen courses.

The entire Marine Academy Plymouth community is immensely proud of this year’s students. Their record-breaking results are a fitting reflection of their hard work, resilience and ambition, and the school looks forward to seeing everything they go on to achieve.
