Over the weekend thieves broke into Ogwell Youth Football Club stealing their tractor mower which is essential equipment needed to maintain their pitch.

As a completely volunteer led grassroots club the loss is devastating.

The football club exists purely to enrich the lives of young people in the community by keeping them active, motivated and connected through sport. They support over 140 children aged 5 to 16 with 7 teams ranging from Under 8s to Under 15s competing in the local Pioneer Youth League.

Without the ability to maintain their pitches or repair the damage caused during the break in they may be forced to make some extremely difficult decisions that could impact opportunities for these young players.

The mower was bought in 2021 and aside from the initial cost has had £8k also spent on essential repairs.

Sadly, it was not insured leaving the club to face a significant and unexpected financial burden.

They are hoping to raise awareness and support fundraising efforts towards replacing the stolen equipment and repairing their much-needed facilities.

he club ethos has always been and remains Family, Fun and Football and they are determined to protect that for their children and the community.

A GoFundMe page has been set up.

Please help if you can.
