East Devon District Council acquires land to extend Seaton Wetlands

More land at Seaton Marshes has been acquired by East Devon District Council (EDDC) in a move to expand its award-winning nature reserve complex of Seaton Wetlands.

An additional 18 acres, lying to the west of the estuary, will provide a pivotal focal point to the area. It will form a natural entry point to Seaton Wetlands, once habitat and infrastructure projects are complete....

Protective measures at Denham Bridge prevented major damage

Measures introduced to protect a 17th century bridge near Bere Alston have helped save it from extensive damage, says Devon County Council.

Denham Bridge will be closed from 9:30am to 3:30pm on Thursday (26 September) while large concrete blocks protecting the Grade II listed structure are craned back into position after being struck by a large vehicle earlier this month.
