Winkleigh Gardens set to flutter and bloom with new competition
Students from Winkleigh Primary School create butterfly artwork to celebrate launch of Lovell's 'The Wings of Winkleigh' competition
WINKLEIGH residents are in with a chance to make their garden flutter and bloom this summer, as national housebuilder Lovell Homes launches ‘The Wings of Winkleigh’ competition.
The competition is being held to celebrate Devon’s diverse wildlife, particularly its exceptional variety of butterflies, as part of the housebuilder’s commitment to supporting the area that is home to its Castle Green development.
To enter the competition, which is running from 29 June until 27 July, residents need to submit their name and contact details, with the winner and runners up then selected at random. First place will win a butterfly habitat box, along with a £50 National Garden Centre gift voucher. Two runners-up will also each win a butterfly habitat box.
Sitting in the heart of Devon, in the tranquil village of Winkleigh, Lovell Homes’ Castle Green development comprises 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom homes and bungalows. It offers homeowners thoughtfully designed, energy-efficient homes with the charming rural countryside right on the doorstep.

Devon is one of the best spots for butterflies in the UK, with two-thirds of British butterfly species found in the county.

Situated between Exmoor and Dartmoor, the Winkleigh development offers homeowners acres of countryside to discover and easy access to nearby seaside villages and beaches along the stunning North Devon Heritage Coast.
The housebuilder has also teamed up with pupils from Winkleigh Primary School to create a stunning display of butterfly artwork, in support of the competition. Arts and craft supplies were donated to the school, with Year 6 pupils creating their own butterfly design, which will be featured in the Castle Green show home for visitors to enjoy.

“They are all looking forward to being able to see their artwork on show in the show home soon! Thank you to Lovell Homes for the generous donation of resources that enabled the children to create their designs.”
