Taylor Wimpey Exeter and Magic Breakfast join forces to offer Torquay school pupils an inspiring preview of the world of work
Taylor Wimpey Exeter and Magic Breakfast, the UK's leading school breakfast charity, have recently hosted an ‘Aspiration Day’ at Watcombe Primary School in Torquay.
The Aspiration Days are events designed by Magic Breakfast to show the next generation just how far, with the right support, their work and aspirations can take them.
The day followed a speed networking format in which six Taylor Wimpey Exeter employees visited Watcombe Primary to speak with pupils about their individual career journeys, educational backgrounds and current roles within the business, helping convey that there are many different routes into a job.
Representing a range of departments across the company were Aisling Cassidy-Highton, Options Co-Ordinator; Owen Thomas, Production Manager; Mark Sweeney, Estimator; Guy Horswell, Strategic Land and Planning Manager; Scarlett Frewin, Production Administrator; and Sophie Sleeman, Customer Relations Manager.
Aisling Cassidy-Highton, who attended on the day, said: “We were delighted to return to Watcombe Primary and speak with pupils about the many exciting careers available within housebuilding. It was fantastic to see how engaged and curious the children were, and we hope the sessions helped inspire them to think about their own future ambitions.”

Their team gave our Year 6 pupils a valuable insight into the world of work, inspiring them to think about their future ambitions and the many opportunities available to them. We are grateful for the time they spent with our children and for helping to make the morning both engaging and memorable.”
The event formed part of Taylor Wimpey’s charitable partnership with Magic Breakfast. As part of this, the housebuilder and Magic Breakfast work closely with partner school, Watcombe Primary, to support pupils through educational and aspirational activities as well as providing a monetary donation towards breakfasts each year.
