Originally from Elburton, where his parents Janet and Paul live, the former Ivybridge Community College pupil remarked on his career in the Navy “I have seen my Dad have a great career in the Royal Navy, which has inspired me to follow suit. It’s been brilliant to gain this amount of experience so far.”

As a CIS specialist he will also be part of the team responsible for the ship’s complex data-processing network systems including the ship's internet and satellite communications, which will help Nick and his crewmates stay in touch with family and friends back home.

HMS Collingwood is the home of the Maritime Warfare School which contributes to the operational capability of the Fleet by providing first class training to all officers and ratings of the Royal Navy in their professional specialisations which include, Weapon Engineering, Communications, and Warfare.  The training they receive is relevant, agile and flexible in order to keep pace with the challenging operational needs.
