David Wilson Homes pops the kettle on for best friends

People in Plymouth say their best friend is the perfect accompaniment to a cuppa, slice of cake and a natter.

Five star housebuilder David Wilson Homes says that despite the popularity of text, social media and instant messaging we still love to sit down for a chat over a cuppa.

The study reveals that best friends top the cuppa and a cake poll with 46 per cent of people saying they would choose their best friends first with family scoring a respectable 30 per cent.

In contrast, the option of celebrities chatting about the latest gossip came in at a low four per cent – but still ahead of the local MP which was top of the list for just two per cent of respondents.

David Wilson Homes sales director Sara Parker said the survey illustrated that people still see a cuppa and chat with friends as an important part of their life.

“Research like this really helps us ensure that our homes are designed with modern life in mind and our open plan kitchen/living areas are perfect for impromptu social gatherings,’’ she said.

“As long as people want to chat over a cuppa we’ll design homes to meet their needs.”
