Caerhays Castle gardens will re-open to the public once again from Monday 20th February 2017.

The HHA Garden of the Year, 2016 Grade II Listed, woodland gardens span over 140 acres as part of the Caerhays Estate and are home to an NCCPG National Magnolia Collection.

The beautiful gardens are also home to the world famous x williamsii Camellias and marvellous Rhododendrons making Caerhays one of Cornwall’s famous and much loved spring gardens and, it is often said, when the Caerhays Champion Magnolia Campbellii Tree is in bloom, spring will have officially arrived in Cornwall – which is earlier than anywhere else in the country.

For locals with TR1, TR2, PL25 or PL26 postcodes, a special entrance discount applies with £2.00 off garden entry per person throughout the 2017 garden season which runs until Friday 18th June (note that Caerhays Castle itself is not open to the public until Monday 20th March and closes on Friday 16th June).

Lucinda Rimmington, Marketing Manager at Caerhays, says of the local’s discount: “Visiting Caerhays in spring is a wonderful opportunity for a memorable family day out. At Caerhays, we really want to encourage locals to take advantage of these beautiful gardens on their doorstep. By offering a locals discount we hope that many new and returning visitors will take advantage of the opportunity to visit these gardens, at a special local rate, to experience the magic and ever changing beauty the spring gardens bring year on year.”

Visitors to the gardens can also relax in the Magnolia Tearooms at Caerhays, which serves a variety of locally sourced and homemade produce from tea and homemade cakes to light lunches and snacks. Visitors can also pre-book a special ‘high tea’ to celebrate Mothering Sunday on Sunday 26th March.
