Motorcycling hopeful out to fulfil his dreams after Hand Racing link-up
A Devon rider regarded as one of motorcycle racing’s hottest prospects is hoping to fulfil that potential after linking up with a history-making team.
Finley (Fin) Arscott, from Lifton, will represent Hand Racing during the upcoming season, fresh off the back of his triumph in the No Limits Racing Pirelli Super Series 600 Championship 2022, in what was only his fourth competitive season.
The 21-year-old also achieved several top 10 finishes in the National Superstock Championship, supporting the British Superbike Championship, and is now preparing to ride his Yamaha R6 in the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship for 2023.
He will be accompanied by new teammate Katie Hand, 17, from Caistor in Lincoln, who became the first female to lift Thundersport GB’s prestigious Superteens championship two years ago. This time out, Kate will again ride her Yamaha R3 in HEL Performance British Junior Supersport Championship.
In a further exciting development, both Fin and Katie will be backed by Yamaha UK in their roles as part of the new Macadam academy, a venture set up to nurture and develop young talent in the cut-throat world of top-flight motorcycle racing.
The team’s push for honours will again be assisted by Derbyshire-based MIH (Make it Happen) Solutions, a strategic communications, marketing and PR agency which will continue its backing of Hand Racing as official partner and title sponsor.
Fin said: “I am so happy to be riding for MIH Solutions and Hand Racing this year. The time I have spent with the team already is giving me confidence that I am in the right place.
“There’s a lot of hard work ahead, but I’m sure there are many exciting times to come also.”
Mick Hand, team owner of Hand Racing, said: “Our decision to run two riders and bikes in different classes was one we thought hard about for much of last year.
“Our minds were made up when Fin became available to ride for us. He is an exceptional talent and we’re hoping to nurture and grow both Fin and Katie together through the Macadam academy, with the backing and continued support of MIH Solutions.”
MIH has been the title sponsor for Hand Racing since 2021, inspired by Co-owner and Director Jon Beech’s love for motorcycling and the business’s passion for supporting both young talent and women in sport.
British Superbike racing starts in April, with testing throughout February.
