Whitleigh residents spring into action

Whitleigh residents are being invited to get involved in activities to spruce up their neighbourhood.

On Monday 22 April Whitleigh is going green! Residents are invited to join Plymouth City Council's neighbourhood teams and Timebank members in a seed planting session. Representatives from the Eden Project and the Council will be giving advice on 'growing your own' and general gardening

There will be free home grown food on offer from the Community Health Team and the Whitleigh Cookery Club as well as face painting fun and a colouring competition for children.

Councillor Chris Penberthy, Cabinet member for Co-operatives and Community Development said: "This is a good opportunity for people in Whitleigh to get involved in the community where they live and have fun. There's lots going on and this event really highlights how community groups and organisations are working together for the benefit of residents."

A series of litter picking events will also be held with children from Whitleigh schools lending a hand with the spring clean.
