A brand-new Persimmon Homes development in Dawlish has welcomed its first residents – and they have declared themselves ‘besotted’ with their new home.

Caitlyn Pearson and Liam Grayshan, aged 21 and 24, are the first occupants at Swan Park, Dawlish, which offers a wide range of private and affordable homes in the thriving South Devon resort.

Commenting on the move, Caitlin said: “We are absolutely besotted with our house and with all the support that we’ve received. We love all the extra detail the Persimmon add within the home and how they go the extra mile for their customers.”

In total, 200 much-needed new homes are being built at the Exeter Road development including 22 affordable homes available through shared ownership and affordable rent.

Stacey Harrison, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes South West, said: “Local demand has been exceptional at Swan Park, and we are pleased to see our first customers move into their new homes.”

Situated less than two miles from Dawlish town centre, Swan Park is ideally located to enjoy all the beauty and amenities the area has to offer. Furthermore, the development is only a 20-minute drive from Exeter, a hub of entertainment, leisure, and shopping.

Stacey said that the development has proved popular from the outset: “Right from the moment we acquired the site and announced our plans, we have seen a phenomenal amount of interest from a wide range of people wanting to live in this beautiful seaside location.

“Swan Park offers a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, which are perfect for individuals, couples and growing families. In addition, we have twenty-two affordable homes ranging from one to three-bedrooms, with a mix of shared ownership and affordable rent.

The development will bring a huge boost to the local economy through the construction industry and its multiplier effect. According to figures from the House Builders Federation, for every £1 spent on housing, £3 goes back into the economy.

Each home built also creates 1.5 full-time direct jobs – and at least twice that number in the supply chain.
