RAW Works with Best in Class

With the recent release of the Taste of the West Awards’ winners, Devon-based public relations agency, RAW Food & Drink PR has been celebrating alongside many of its clients.  The UK’s largest regional food and drink awards programme, which helps food and drink businesses in the South West to thrive and succeed, has brought great success for six of RAW’s clients who between them amassed a staggering 17 top ‘Gold’ awards and two ‘Silver’ awards.

RAW’s clients achieving victory at the Taste of the West Awards include Flapjackery who won an amazing four ‘Gold’ awards for their luxurious flapjacks which are all handmade in Devon.  Lemon Drizzle Flapjack, Peanut Butter Brownie Flapjack - made using Freda’s ‘Gold’ award-winning peanut butter, Traditional Flapjack and Burnt Caramel & Seasalt Flapjack were all awarded accolades.  Famed for their delicious savoury bakes, Chunk of Devon scooped five ‘Gold’ and one ‘Silver’ award for their rustic Devon pies and pasties.  With over 175 accolades across their range, this year’s ‘Gold’ winners included their Steak Pasty, Lamb Maroc Pasty, Chicken and Mushroom Pie, Steak and Kidney Pie and Veggie Tagine Pie, with a ‘Silver’ for their Cheatin’ Cheeze Pasty.  

Taking home an impressive haul of top awards Sandford Orchards, renowned for their ‘cider done right’, won three top accolades for their session cider, Rib Ticker and traditional ciders The General and Sandford Reserve.  Their fresh oak-finished cider, Apple & Oak won ‘Silver’. Popular Cornish family-owned Trewithen Dairy known for their westcountry milk, butter, yoghurt and clotted cream were victorious too, with their Cornish Salted Butter and Cornish Clotted Cream both winning ‘Golds’.  Devon Cove, who create exceptional vodka using 100% King Edward potatoes grown on their family farm in South Devon received recognition for their smooth Vodka and Damson Liqueur, which both won ‘Gold’.  Finally, completing RAW’s clients’ wonderful success at the prestigious food, drink and hospitality awards, Salcombe Brewery Co. claimed ‘Gold’ for their Salcombe Pilsner.

RAW’s clients have also been busy securing success in national and international food and drink awards.  Only last month, premium Devon rum blender Hattiers Rum were awarded ‘Gold’ for ‘Eminence’, their blended aged white rum at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).  More than 300 rums were judged, with ‘Eminence’ scoring an impressive 95 out of a possible 100.  Salcombe Distilling Co. had huge success in this year’s People’s Choice Spirits Awards 2021 with ‘New London Light’, their non-alcoholic spirit, winning the 2021 award for the ‘Mindful Drinking’ category and Luscombe Drinks now boasts 85 Great Taste Awards for their organic fruit juices, crushes, bubblies, sparkling waters, tonic waters and mixers.
