Plymouth Pupils Climb to New Heights with Playground Addition
Pupils at Drake Primary Academy, part of theReach South Academy Trust, are enjoying a brand-new climbing frame thanks to the support of the school’s PTA.
The equipment, which is already proving a hit, offers a fun and engaging way for pupils to build confidence, develop physical skills and work together during playtimes.
Funding for the climbing frame came from the sale of the former Pelican Children’s Centre in Plymouth, secured with support from the PTA.
The climbing frame was installed over the Easter break and officially opened during a special moment at the school this week, with pupils eager to be among the first to try it out.
Drake Primary Academy prides itself on being a warm and welcoming school where physical activity and personal development are actively encouraged, with outdoor play seen as an important part of pupils’ overall development.
Jacqueline Stephens, Executive Headteacher at Drake Primary Academy, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to our PTA for their continued support and for securing this funding. The new climbing frame is a fantastic addition to our playground, and it is wonderful to see the children already making the most of it.”
