The former class of 2014 A Level students returned to Plympton Academy recently to collect their A Level Certificates.

The evening, also attended by family and friends, was a great opportunity to catch up with school chums and teachers alike.

“It was good to hear the students' stories of how they are getting on at University and with apprenticeships, and that they are enjoying their experiences,” said Martin Poveda, Head of Sixth Form.

Mr Poveda presented the students with their certificates, and congratulated them on their achievements.

Some of the former students, like James Tremlett and James Nile, have stayed in the area to study at Plymouth University. While Paris Hatherley is going to Florida for a year as a history exchange student and Fiona Turner, Rebecca Watson and Amy Blackler will go to Spain for a year as part of their Spanish courses. Sam Johns will be visiting America as part of his Politics degree course and Charlie Shapland is enjoying his Higher Level Apprenticeship at Babcock Marine.

“It’s great to see how many of our former A level students have gone on to either university or an apprenticeship,” said Principal, Lisa Boorman. “Their hard work has paid off and everyone at Plympton Academy wishes them the very best for the future.”
