Artwork by pupils at Willand School has been put on display at Bellway’s Fox Mill Gardens development in the village.

The children, aged between four and nine, took part in an art competition organised by Bellway in which they were asked to design their dream home.

Participating children were invited to see their work on display.

Prizes were presented to each of the children with a £25 book voucher for the first-placed design, a £20 voucher for second and a £15 voucher for third. The rest of the pupils received a £5 voucher.

Laura-Jane Alford, from the Parents, Teachers and Friends Association at Willand School, said: “When Bellway approached us to take part in a ‘Design A Dream Home’ competition to be displayed at their new development in Willand, we jumped at the chance to display our artistry and imagination to potential newcomers to our village.

“The children do a great job of representing our school values and our recent Good Ofsted rating commented on how the school has a strong community feel. The children were so creative, and we couldn’t be prouder of their work.”

This is the second time Bellway has partnered with the school, following the school’s successful Easter bunny ear competition last year, for which Bellway provided a donation to cover the cost of medals.

Rachel Way, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “We are committed to looking for ways to work with the local community as part of building homes in the area.

“After the success of last year’s Easter competition with the school, we were more than happy to partner with them again.

“It was lovely to see the children’s hard work and creativity come through in their artwork ideas which we are proud to have on display at our Fox Mill Gardens development in the village.”
