Blundell’s School Appoints Gareth Pearson as Next Head

Blundell’s School is pleased to announce the appointment of Gareth Pearson as its next Head, beginning in September 2026.

Currently Head of Christ College, Brecon, Mr Pearson has led the school since 2017, earning a reputation as an inspirational and values-driven leader. Under his leadership, Christ College has seen significant growth, academic success, and pastoral strength. In 2024, he was shortlisted by Tatler magazine for “Best Head of a Public School.”

Originally from Dorset, Mr Pearson studied Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University before serving as an Officer in the Royal Marines. His teaching career has included key leadership roles at Millfield, Wellington College, and Lord Wandsworth College.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Pearson said:

Mr Pearson will succeed current Head, Bart Wielenga, who will return to South Africa to become Rector of Michaelhouse.
