The Northam Care Trust Wins National “The Employer Award”
Northam, North Devon – 22 June 2026 – The Northam Care Trust is proud to announce that it has been awarded The Employer Award (Not-for-Profit) at the prestigious National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards, held on 19 June 2026.
The award recognises organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to their workforce, and Northam Care Trust was selected by judges for its exceptional approach to staff wellbeing, training, and support.
As a small, community-based charity in North Devon, the Trust says this national recognition is a significant achievement.

Recognition for Staff Wellbeing Initiatives
Judges were particularly impressed by the Trust’s investment in staff wellbeing. Recent initiatives include funding a health cash plan to support employees with everyday healthcare costs, and introducing a second Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
This additional EAP provides staff with enhanced support, including access to a 24/7 online GP service, alongside confidential advice and resources to support mental health and overall wellbeing.
Commitment to Training and Support
The Northam Care Trust was also recognised for going above and beyond in its approach to training and professional development. The organisation has invested in additional development for its senior team, ensuring that staff supervision and support are meaningful, effective, and impactful.
Judges noted that this commitment creates a positive and supportive working environment, enabling staff to deliver high-quality care to people with learning disabilities and autism.
