Topping the list is Brighton, where a whopping 61.1% of offices welcome dogs. Famous for its laid-back seaside vibe and a thriving community of creative and independent businesses, the city seems perfectly suited for four-legged coworkers.

Not far behind, another coastal city, Plymouth, lets pets into half of its workspaces, proving that seaside towns are leading the way when it comes to pooch-friendly offices.

In third place is Cambridge, home to its world-renowned university and a booming tech and startup scene, with 44.4% of offices allowing dogs – a sign that even brainy towns are getting on board with furry friends at work.

London - home to countless large businesses - ranks fifth, with 41.6% of workspace listings welcoming dogs. The capital may be catching up, but it seems pet-friendly policies are still more common in cities with a seaside breeze.

Jules Robertson, Workplace Expert & Co-Founder of Tally Workspace, Comments on the rise of dog-friendly offices:“There is a notable shift from offices just tolerating dogs to actively designing spaces around them. It's no longer a case of 'dogs allowed' - it's becoming a genuine part of how workplaces are built and branded.”

She adds,“Work.Life is a great example of this. Across most of their venues, they provide dog bowls, treats, toys and beds as standard. They are actively encouraging dogs and supporting their owners.”

“We saw the same ambition when we worked with Butternut Box on their new headquarters in White City, London. From the start, their brief centred around dogs and creating a workspace where dogs were built into the design. That meant nearby access to grass, beds tucked under desks, treats at the front door, and a dedicated photo corner for dog content. The whole space was designed around the joyful ritual of taking a dog for a walk.”

“As more companies push for office attendance, I think we'll see dog-friendly design move from a nice-to-have to a real competitive advantage in attracting and keeping talent.”
