Polar Bear

The closing night of this year’s festival features an exclusive south west gig for Polar Bear, led by the wondrously inventive drummer and producer Sebastian Rochford. This year sees them back on the road with an acclaimed new album In Each And Everyone with Rochford, a musician known for his numerous category-defying projects, leading the band in a new direction.

Rochford has worked with a mind-boggling array of musicians, including Yoko Ono, Andy Sheppard, Paul McCartney, Patti Smith and Damon Albarn’s Africa Express project. He appears along with a stellar line-up of musicians, featuring saxophonists Pete Wareham (Acoustic Ladyland) and Mark Lockheart (Loose Tubes), Tom Herbert (The Invisible) on bass, as well as electronics wizard/guitarist Leafcutter John.

‘Rochford’s creative mix makes [In Each And Everyone] seem like an integrated, large-scale work, and the overall effect is eerily beautiful’. John Fordham, The Guardian.

‘One of the most innovative bands of the last ten years’. Jez Nelson, Jazz on 3.
