The headline act of this year’s festival is not just one, but two of the most popular performers on the UK jazz circuit. Award winning vocalists Ian Shaw and Claire Martin will perform their own 70th birthday tribute to Joni Mitchell, whose beautifully crafted songs range from the legendary Blue album to her later musings on world issues. This powerful and intimate show in the beautiful setting of The Old Chapel is not to be missed.

BBC Radio 3 presenter Claire Martin has spent the last 27 years honing the craft of jazz singing. To worldwide critical acclaim she has established herself as a tour de force on the UK jazz scene gaining many awards, including the British Jazz Awards, which she has won seven times.

Twice voted Best Jazz Vocalist at the BBC Jazz Awards, Ian Shaw has recorded a number of highly acclaimed albums and is a popular performer both in the UK and the US. He has been cited, along with Mark Murphy and Kurt Elling, as one of the world’s finest male jazz vocalists. His acclaimed 2006 album Drawn To All Things – The Songs Of Joni Mitchell, saw him “praised far and wide as the single greatest male jazz vocalist Britain has to offer” by Jazz Times.
