Fire crews called to large vehicle blaze

Fire crews were called to a report of a large vehicle on fire at Chelston, Plymstock, Plymouth shortly after 8am this morning (Thursday 4 July).

Three appliances and a water bowser were mobilised to the scene.

Free Wi-Fi introduced in Plymouth libraries

Plymouth City Council is introducing free Wi-Fi in four city libraries.

From Thursday 4 July, customers visiting the Central Library and Plymstock, Plympton and St Aubyn libraries will enjoy free internet access on their own laptops, tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices.

This is the first phase in a roll-out of free Wi-Fi across Plymouth’s library network.

Care home opens its doors for garden party celebration

The Retreat Care Home in Plymstock is opening its doors on Saturday 27 July and inviting the local community to come and join them for their annual Garden Party.

Man found dead in the back of a van

Devon and Cornwall Police report that the body of a man has been found in the back of a van in Plymstock.

Police received a call from ambulance staff at around 4.15pm on Monday 8 April with a report that a deceased man had been located in the back of a van parked on Radford Park Road.

At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and detectives are awaiting the results...
