The concert will include congregational carols, three beautiful pieces by Edward Elgar, Lux Aeterna, The Snow, and Ave Verum Corpus and, in the second half, a performance of the famous Vivaldi Gloria.

Accompanied by organ and orchestra under the direction of Musical Director Alice Dennis, this will be a delightful seasonal celebration for all.

University of Plymouth Orchestra present their Christmas Concert. Join us for an evening of music for full orchestra as well as the brass, woodwind and string sections.

The Orchestra comprises of students, staff and community members and performs three concerts during the academic year.

Parting donations welcome in aid of concert costs.

Performance: Silva and Adachi

Sound poets Tomomi Adachi and Hannah Silva join forces, presenting Pluto is a Planet! in which they literarily play the shirts off their backs, using gesture and infrared sensors to process their voices live. Silva performs tracks from her acclaimed debut album Talk in a bit and Adachi presents an extraordinary selection of sound poetry, from Japanese dada to his own soaring and percussive vocal compositions.

The Collati Singers conducted by Trefor Farrow will be in concert on Saturday 14th July at St Bartholomew’s Church, Yealmpton at 7.30pm. They will be presenting a varied programme with lyrics based on sonnets and play extracts by Shakespeare, by composers such as Rutter, Tavener and Vaughan Williams.
