Man jailed to 14 years for manslaughter

A man has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with a five year extension following the death of a man in Plymouth.

Paul Quantick [pictured], 35, of Union Street, Plymouth, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 44-year-old Gary Miller, from Devonport, whose body was discovered on Saturday 17 December 2016.

Benjamin Roach, 24, has been found guilty of the manslaughter of his baby daughter Roxie-Jo Hopkins-Roach, in a trial verdict at Plymouth Crown Court today (Monday 20 May).

Roach of Tailyour Road, Crownhill, denied unlawfully killing one-month-old Roxie-Jo on September 23, 2010 but the jury unanimously found him guilty.
