Zara Tindall gives birth to daughter

The Queen’s granddaguther Zara Tindall has given birth to a baby girl at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Her husband, former England rugby star Mike Tindall was present at the birth.

Benjamin Roach has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the unlawful killing of his one-month-old daughter, Roxie.

Benjamin Roach, 24, has been found guilty of the manslaughter of his baby daughter Roxie-Jo Hopkins-Roach, in a trial verdict at Plymouth Crown Court today (Monday 20 May).

Roach of Tailyour Road, Crownhill, denied unlawfully killing one-month-old Roxie-Jo on September 23, 2010 but the jury unanimously found him guilty.

Paignton Zoo giraffe named

A Rothschild’s giraffe born at Paignton Zoo in January is to be called Joanna.

The female calf, now three months old, was named by visitors who voted for their favourite names by placing donations in a special collecting box. Voting raised nearly £200 for the charity’s conservation work.
