Plymouth City Council has given the go ahead to plans for a £50m redevelopment of Plymouth Argyle's Home Park ground and its vicinity.

Councillors approved the project at a detailed planning committee meeting held at the Civic Centre on Thursday (15 August) while some Argyle fans waited on tenterhooks outside.

The ambitious £50m development plans for Higher Home Park and Central Park have been submitted to Plymouth city planners.

Images have been released of the plans which, if approved, could transform the area into a major state-of-the-art sporting and leisure destination.

The submission, by the Akkeron Group, has been made following several weeks of public consultation.
