Luke preparing for stardom despite failing to win top spot

Luke Friend is preparing for stardom, despite failing to reach the X Factor final.

The 17-year-pld from Teignmouth failed to secure enogh votes to go through to last night's sing off but despite that he is still  being tipped for the top.

And among those singing his praises have been a number of celebrities.

Elli Goulding, who dueted with Luke, from Teignmouth, on Saturday night tweeted: I loved performing with @LukeFriendMusic. What an absolute legend. Goooooo Luke!!!

And Phillip Schoefield told his 2.6m Twitter followers: "I'm gutted for @LukeFriendMusic .. really gutted, but it won't matter, he will be a star!" Thank you man!! So awesome meeting you!"

After losing out Luke told X Factor host Dermot O'Leary: "I know some people thought I was the underdog - but I got here [to the last but one show]. And this is absolutely amazing.

"I want to keep writing music and do something I love. And I want to write music for you guys!" he said to the live crowd at Wembley Arena.

Mentor and judge Louis Walsh added: "He's got something unique and he's going to have an amazing career. Watch this space!"

The crown was taking on the night by Leicester prison officer Sam Bailey with 17-year-old Nichola McDonald coming second . Not only has Sam won herself a record deal, but she will also support international musical superstar Beyoncé in concert next year on the Mrs Carter tour in the UK.

Having nabbed the coveted prize, Sam will be releasing her first ever single, Skyscraper. The track is available to download right now and will be available in stores from Wednesday. Proceeds will go towards the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and Together for Short Lives.
