Twenty-eight dedicated Rowcroft Hospice volunteers and staff braved soaring temperatures on Friday 26 June to raise an incredible £14,644 during Live at Powderham, where the hospice was proud to be the charity partner for a fabulous performance by Alanis Morissette.

The Rowcroft team spent the evening collecting cash and card donations from thousands of concertgoers at Powderham Castle, with music fans giving generously to support Rowcroft's specialist end-of-life care across South Devon. Despite the scorching heat, the team welcomed people with smiles throughout the evening, helping to raise vital funds that will enable the hospice to continue caring for local families when they need it most.

The generous donations came from both local supporters and visitors from further afield, all united in their support of vital hospice care.

Lisa Whittaker, Corporate Fundraiser at Rowcroft Hospice, said:

"We are super proud of our amazing volunteers, who gave up their time and worked tirelessly in exceptionally hot conditions. We were blown away by the amazing support we received - it was truly wonderful to see so many people recognising the importance of local hospice care and wanting to support families who need our services.

"To raise this incredible amount in a single evening is an outstanding achievement. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us continue providing compassionate care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and those closest to them. We'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gave their time, to the organisers at Live at Powderham for choosing us as their charity partner for this fantastic event, and to everyone who donated so generously."

With only around a quarter of its funding coming from the NHS, Rowcroft relies on the generosity of its local community to raise the millions of pounds needed each year to provide its specialist care that’s delivered free of charge to patients and their loved ones across South Devon.
