Discover Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail at Saltram in Plymouth this half term
Unleash your energy this half term as the National Trust and Pokémon team up for the exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game Mega Evolution Trail, Saturday 23 May.
The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail invites families into the Grade-I listed gardens at Saltram for a playful way to build confidence outdoors, enjoy fresh air and create shared family memories while searching for ten Mega Evolution Pokémon across ten trail points.
Each trail point features a simple physical or creative challenge inspired by different Mega Evolution Pokémon. From showing courage and curiosity with Darkness-type Mega Gengar ex, to unleashing energy and imagination inspired by the powerful Fire-type Mega Charizard Y ex, the trails blend imaginative play with gentle activity.
A trail sheet will help young trainers keep track of their discoveries and at the end of the trail, explorers can celebrate their achievement together with a photo opportunity at a Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail backdrop.
The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trails are exclusive to the National Trust and are included with standard National Trust admission, which includes entry to the house (free for National Trust members). Saltram is the only location in Devon to host the trail, while the next nearest location to Plymouth is Lanhydrock in Cornwall.
The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Trail is just one of the many reasons for families to visit Saltram this May half term, where it’s easy to swap screens for fresh air and adventure. Beyond the historic house and formal gardens, Saltram’s wider estate offers plenty of space to run, ride, scoot and explore together.
Families can make the most of Saltram’s network of multi-use trails, suitable for walking, cycling, mobility aids and pushchairs. Free-to-access parkland routes include the much-loved Riverside Path, alongside recently resurfaced routes through The Dell and the woodland path running parallel to the main drive, making it easier than ever to enjoy time outdoors together.
There’s even more happening across the half term week, with extra family-friendly activities including creative manga drawing workshops, family crafting, and the chance to discover Jersey’s Story - a powerful new display exploring the life of Boston Jersey, the enslaved boy depicted in one of Sir Joshua Reynolds’ most significant portraits at Saltram.
All visitors can enjoy Saltram’s parkland trails free of charge. Standard admission applies for access to the house, gardens and Pokémon trail, with free entry for National Trust members. Parking is free for members or £3 per vehicle for non-members.
