Ladram Bay Holiday Park has chosen local bereavement charity Balloons as its charity partner for 2026, supporting vital work with children and young people who have experienced the death of someone significant in their lives.

The park will fundraise for Balloons through a series of activities, including a traditional school sports day in May and staff taking part in challenges such as half-marathons. An activity day for those the charity supports will also take place in November.

Healthcare professionals established Balloons in 2006 and the charity provides free, tailored bereavement support to children, young people aged five to 25, and their families before or after the death of someone important. Using trained volunteers, the charity offers one-to-one support, group work, and resources to help young people process grief.

General Manager of Ladram Bay Holiday Park, Gary Cook, has signed up for a half-marathon in April to raise funds. Gary said: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Balloons as our chosen charity this year. The work the team do to support children and young people cope with bereavement is invaluable, and we look forward to raising as much as we can to help them continue that vital support.”

Nasim Hartmann, Fundraising Officer from Balloons, added: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as Charity of the Year by Ladram Bay. The whole team have been so welcoming and we know that Ladram Bay’s commitment to families will be a fantastic match to our work supporting bereaved children and young people and their families.”

The new partnership builds on Ladram Bay Holiday Park’s ongoing commitment to local causes. In 2025, the park supported the Devon Air Ambulance and raised more than £1,200 through fundraising activities and collection pots. The Devon Air Ambulance provide a vital life-saving service across the county, delivering critical care to patients wherever they are. With specialist crews operating two helicopters and critical care cars, the Air Ambulance team can reach people quickly.

Ladram Bay Holiday Park is situated on the Jurassic coast path, between Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth in Devon, and opened its doors for the 2026 season on Friday 13th March. To find out more about Ladram Bay Holiday Park visit: https://ladrambay.co.uk/.
