The team behind Torbay Baton of Hope, a major local initiative raising awareness around suicide prevention and mental wellbeing, is proud to announce the launch of its brand-new website: www.torbaybatonofhope.com

The site provides a central hub for everything connected to the Baton of Hope relay taking place across Torbay on 30th September this year. Visitors can now explore event routes, view wellbeing activities, find support resources, book tickets to the BIG show of hope, and learn more about the mission behind the movement.

“This website isn’t just about logistics,” says Rachel Brett, one of the event organisers. “It’s about connection. We want people across Torbay to feel part of something meaningful, whether they're attending events, signing our pledge or cheering on our Baton Bearers.”

The Torbay Baton of Hope is part of a growing national movement to challenge stigma around suicide, create safe spaces for conversation, and champion positive mental health—particularly for those most at risk, including men, young people, and those affected by loss.

The team is inviting local residents, businesses, schools, and community groups to get involved—whether by joining the walk, attending wellbeing events, or simply sharing the message that it’s okay to talk.

“Every step we take with the baton is a step toward hope,” adds Lesley Morrison - local café owner and Baton Bearer  “And this website makes it easier than ever for people to walk alongside us.”
