Due to an increase in demand for home delivery, milk&more is looking for milkmen and women to join the team based at Plymouth. An essential part of British life for generations, the milkman provides a valuable and convenient service to the local community. The milkman was the nation’s original doorstep delivery service, with milk first being delivered to homes 150 years ago. Today the milkman remains a British icon, along with the glass milk bottle, many still have their fresh milk delivered in.

If you would like to help maintain this great British tradition, like working with people and enjoy being outdoors then this opportunity could be for you.

Many changes have been made to ensure that the service remains as relevant and convenient to today’s customers as it has to generations before them. The new recruits will use modern technology such as an Electronic Rounds Book, while delivering over 250 household groceries from Müller yogurts, Kingsmill bread and Cathedral City cheeses to garden compost as well as fresh fruit juice, tea, coffee and milk (glass and plastic bottles). And, although some customers do still like to leave notes for their milkman in the empties, many now order and pay online as milk&more now uses technology that previous milkmen and customers couldn’t have dreamt of!

Plymouth depot manager, Nick Pearson comments: “It’s an exciting time for milk&more, with consumer demand for home delivery continuing to grow. We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service, come rain or shine and are looking for like-minded people to join our team. The milkman is a great tradition that is part of our history and one we are confident that will be here for future generations to enjoy.”
