Speedway: Hammer and tongs at Redcar

PLYMOUTH will look to bounce back from Thursday’s 50-42 defeat at Redcar when they meet bottom of the table Scunthorpe in the Premier League at the St Boniface Arena on Saturday evening (7.15pm).

The Skills Group Devils are six points adrift of sixth-placed Ipswich, who won 60-30 at home to Berwick on Thursday evening, but have three matches in hand over the Witches.

Ipswich have two matches remaining, away to Rye House on Saturday and at home to Peterborough on Thursday. Meanwhile, Plymouth follow Saturday’s home match against Scunthorpe with further home fixtures against Newcastle (August 28) and Berwick (September 4) in addition to away matches at Rye House (August 31) and Scunthorpe (September 11).

Redcar: Richard Lawson 14 (5 rides), rider replacement for Stuart Robson, Matej Kus 11 (5), Dimitri Berge 2+1 (3), Jonas Andersen 8+2 (5). Reserves: Matthew Wethers 9+2 (6), Jan Graversen 6+1 (6).

Plymouth: Kyle Newman 6 (4), James Wright 0 (3), Jack Holder 8 (5), Morten Risager 7+1 (4), Ryan Fisher 10 (5). Reserves: Sam Simota 0 (3), Todd Kurtz 11+1 6).
